Vermont State Police have arrested James Cross, 33, of Richford for allegedly luring and engaging in inappropriate conduct with two underage girls.
The specific charges include 2 counts of Luring a Child, and 2 counts of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct with a Child.

He was arrested on September 27 and is currently being held at Northwest State Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $25,000.
He was arraigned on September 30 in the Vermont Superior Court – Franklin Criminal Division.
Assault/stabbing at Decker Towers
Police responded to a report of a stabbing at Decker Towers on St. Paul St., Burlington in the early hours of September 30.
When police arrived at the scene they learned that a physical altercation had broken out between a duo of suspects, one male and one female, against the victim.
The male suspect attempted to punch the victim in the face while the female suspect stabbed them in the foot. The victim was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center with non-fatal injuries.
The male suspect is Joshua Jaques, 30, of Burlington, who had two warrants out for his arrest at the time. The female suspect was Sarah Terry, 43, of Burlington.
Terry hid in her apartment and was uncooperative with police, refusing to answer the door. Officers applied for a search warrant for the apartment. Luckily, while the search warrant was being drafted, Terry began to cooperate.
Both were arrested and taken to the Burlington Police Department. Terry’s bail was set at $10,000 while Jacques’ was $200. For his other two arrest warrants his bail was set at $200 and $1,500 respectively.
Terry’s criminal history includes 2 felony charges, 6 misdemeanor charges, and 3 assaultive crimes charges. She has been involved in 20 documented incidents, some involve disturbances and drugs. Terry was also under eviction with the Burlington Housing Authority for suspicions of drug dealing and usage, supported by evidence from a prior BPD operation.
A search of Jaques’ criminal history showed 1 charge of court orders or violations and 14 misdemeanor charges.

Deceased driver identified a month later
A driver who crashed his vehicle on Route 127 and died has recently been identified. A final autopsy on September 30 identified the driver as Shawn Lawrence, 51, of Milton. The cause of death was ruled as an acute drug intoxication, and the manner of death an accident.
