On Monday, February 24, 2025, Vermont State Police and Brattleboro Police arrested Kevin McGirr, 42, of Brattleboro, for the sale of cocaine and fentanyl.
The arrest followed a months-long investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force. Confidential informants purchased fentanyl and cocaine from McGirr on three separate occasions.

He was processed at the Brattleboro Police Department and ordered held on $5,000 bail at Southern State Correctional Facility. McGirr appeared in Vermont Superior Court on February 25.
Burlington man arrested for aggravated domestic assault
On February 16, 2025, Burlington Police arrested Benjamin Frederich, 39, of Burlington, for aggravated domestic assault.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Ethan Allen Parkway at approximately 2:19am. Frederich was taken into custody, processed, and lodged at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on $2,000 bail.

Montpelier woman arrested for wrong-way driving and DUI
At around 1:00am on February 25, 2025, Vermont State Police arrested Carole Brown, 57, of Montpelier, for gross negligent operation, running from police, and DUI.

Police received multiple reports of a vehicle driving south in the northbound lane of I-89 in Montpelier. The vehicle passed several other cars and police cruisers before stopping after running over spike strips.
Brown was taken into custody and transported to the VSP Berlin Barracks for processing. She appeared in court on the same day.
Burlington police arrest burglary suspect in downtown Burlington
On February 23, 2025, Burlington Police responded to College Street for a report of a shattered storefront window and possible burglary.
An investigation revealed that a male suspect had broken into a downtown business by shattering a front window and stolen merchandise. William Cole, 38, of Johnson, was identified as the suspect.
Cole was arrested on February 24 at approximately 4:45 p.m. while walking in downtown Burlington. During the arrest, officers found Cole in possession of three lighters, violating his court-ordered conditions of release not to carry lighters.
Cole was transported to the Burlington Police Department for processing.
Cole’s criminal history includes:
1 felony conviction,
4 misdemeanor convictions,
6 failures to appear.
Whitingham woman arrested on active warrant in Dummerston
On February 26, 2025, Vermont State Police arrested Sarah Galaske, 46, of Whitingham, during a traffic stop on Upper Dummerston Road in Dummerston.
A subsequent investigation revealed Galaske had an active in-state warrant for charges including burglary, unlawful trespass into a motor vehicle, petit larceny, and vehicle operation with a suspended license.
Galaske was taken into custody immediately and will answer to the charges in court at a later date.
