Another gunfire incident in downtown Burlington
Police received multiple reports of gunshots near Pine Street last Friday night. This incident is just the latest in Burlington, which is grappling with per capita crime rates comparable to those of much bigger cities like Philadelphia.
The gunfire happened around 11pm when police received two calls about reporting the gunfire. Uniformed officers responded but did not find any victims, witnesses or evidence of gunfire at the time.
Police were not able to locate any evidence until the next morning, when they found several spent shell casings in the area of Battery Street and Main Street.
This incident has been transferred to the Detective Services Bureau for further investigation follow up.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at (802) 658-2704.
