According to investigators, Chase fired multiple rounds from the shotgun while outside the home. Due to poor weather and the dangerous nature of the situation, troopers requested assistance from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies responded, but Chase fled the scene on a snowmobile.

Deputies pursued Chase for nearly four miles along Oregon Road, Cedar Street, and Leonard Hill Road before he veered off onto a powerline trail. Chase eventually crashed the snowmobile into a brook and fled on foot. Despite commands to stop, he ran into the woods.

Troopers, deputies, and the Lyndonville Police Department set up a perimeter in the area of U.S. Route 2 near Beach Drive. After tracking Chase for over four miles through the woods, law enforcement apprehended him back on Oregon Road without further incident.

Chase was on supervised release at the time and had removed his GPS monitor during the incident. He was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility without bail on parole violations.

He faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault, unlawful mischief, attempting to elude, being a person prohibited from possessing firearms, and being a habitual offender. He is scheduled to appear in Essex County Criminal Court on April 15, 2025.
