Burlington Police have arrested a man and a woman for a series of charges stemming from a police encounter on October 14.
Police found a car near Fletcher Free Library with three unconscious people; one driver and two passengers. Police did not say whether or not they had passed out due to drug use, the real reason is unclear.
The occupants were Anthony Seagroves, 32, of Hinesburg, Katelynn Cannon, 28, of Hinesburg, and Zachary Hutchinson, 43 of Burlington.
Seagroves and Cannon were arrested this June in connection with a kidnapping and assault case from June 8 in Starksboro.
According to investigators of the June incident, Seagroves had forcibly ordered a household member into a vehicle at baseball bat-point, driving off and causing bodily injury while restraining the victim. Cannon allegedly assisted by physically assaulting the same person and attempting serious bodily harm.
Shortly after, the occupants inside the vehicle woke up and responded to the officer. Police learned the car had been stolen out of South Burlington.
When asked to step out of the vehicle, police found a handgun on the seat where Seagroves was sitting and a knife on the seat where Cannon was sitting. Both were in reach of all the passengers. All three were detained.
Through dispatch police learned the Seagroves and Cannon were on conditions of release to not be in the possession of guns or any other dangerous or deadly weapons. Seagroves also had a suspended drivers license and is a convicted felon who is disqualified from owning a gun.
Both stemmed from an incident involving a kidnapping and aggravated assault charge.

He is at Northwest State Correctional Facility on $5000 bail.
