Church Street juveniles with knives
Burlington Police responded to a complaint of a verbal altercation on Church Street at around 9pm on December 16.
When officers arrived they learned that an individual had witnessed the juveniles harassing a sleeping person on Church Street. When the witness attempted to intervene, the suspects brandished knives.
Police officers found a juvenile matching an eye witness profile. The juvenile told police he had a knife and then proceeded to run away. After a brief foot chase, police arrested the juvenile and took him into custody for aggravated assault.
The juvenile was transported to the BPD – officers contacted the juvenile’s parents and the juvenile was released into their custody with a citation to appear in court.

Trespass in Burlington leads to assault arrest
Burlington Police responded to an alleged trespassing incident past midnight on December 14. The incident is reported to have happened on Main Street.
When police arrived, they found Victoria Sherman, 33, of Burlington. Police asked her to leave the premises, and after some brief resistance she complied.
While leaving the property, police say that Sherman escalated the situation, charging and running into a group of bystanders on the sidewalk.
Officers subsequently placed Sherman under arrest. Sherman became extremely defiant, shouting, cursing, and yelling obscenities. Furthermore, Sherman kicked a police officer, landing her an assault charge.
In addition to disorderly conduct, Sherman was now taken into custody for simple assault on a protected professional and transported to the BPD.
While being processed, officers were informed that Sherman had active conditions to not engage in any criminal or threatening behavior. Sherman was lodged at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.

10 failures to appear,
21 violation of court orders or conditions charges with 4 convictions,
4 felony charges,
79 misdemeanor charges with 14 convictions,
13 assaultive crime charges with 4 convictions,
1 dangerous/deadly weapon charge.
Domestic / Sexual assault in Newport
Police have arrested Michael Hager, 51, of Newport Center for allegedly sexually assaulting an undisclosed individual.
The incident occurred on Gage Rd, in Newport Center. Police were responding to a possible incident of domestic violence.
After investigation, police determined that there was enough evidence to arrest Hager on charges of domestic & sexual assault.
Hager was subsequently arrested and was transported to the Derby Barracks for further processing. Hager was later lodged at Northern State Correctional Facility. Hager is ordered to appear in court for the above charges.
Sexual Assault in Mendon
Vermont State Police have also arrested Joshua D. McQueen, 35, of Mendon (originally Alabama) on charges of sexual assault and domestic assault.
This was an investigation into a previous incident that occurred sometime in November. As a result of this additional BCI investigation, Joshua McQueen was issued a citation for an additional charge of aggravated domestic assault and a charge of sexual assault.
Both crimes were committed upon an adult female.
Salisbury man calls 911 a total of 56 times for no reason
On December 9, Police say that they began to receive a large amount of 911 calls from Salisbury.
Cyrus Bedard, 35, of Salisbury allegedly began repeatedly calling 911 without any reason and harassing the dispatchers.
The total number of times Bedard contacted 911 was 56 times. It was determined that all 56 calls into 911 had nothing to do with any emergency, a misuse of the 911 emergency line.
Troopers arrived at Bedard’s location and issued him a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court.
