Man in violation of 30 conditions of release arrested, jailed
Same people, same county, same crime, different year.
Two men with criminal records – one of them found in violation of 30 conditions of release – were arrested together Monday in Brattleboro for fentanyl possession. It was the second time in less than a year that police in Windham County had arrested them together on drug charges.
State police say that shortly after 1 pm, troopers found two unresponsive males in a vehicle in the parking lot of a Rte. 5, Westminster business. They arrested Christopher Baxter, 33, of Brattleboro for DUI-Drugs and Possession of Fentanyl. He also was found in violation of 15 different sets of Conditions of Release – violating a total of 30 conditions, for which he is also charged. Jereme Schoff, 35, of Brattleboro was also arrested for Possession of Fentanyl and Violating Conditions of Release.
Baxter was jailed pending arraignment today, October 11. Schoff was released pending arraignment November 8.
This incident wasn’t the first time police nabbed them together.
On November 21, 2021, Brattleboro Police responding to a suspicious incident on Brattle Street arrested Baxter, 32, of Brattleboro, and Schoff, 34, then of Springfield. Schoff was found to have a warrant in Vermont, and placed under arrest. Baxter was found to be in violation of his court ordered conditions of release, and placed under arrest. Baxter was processed and released on a citation. Police located misdemeanor amounts of fentanyl and crack cocaine in Baxter’s vehicle.
