POLICE SHORTS: Kidnapping suspects caught

On Thursday evening, Vermont State Police troopers and Hinesburg officers located and arrested two suspects without incident around 8:35 p.m. at a residence on Richmond Road in Hinesburg.

Anthony Seagroves, 32, of Hinesburg, and Katelynn Cannon, 28, of Essex, were wanted in connection with a kidnapping and assault case from June 8 in Starksboro.

According to investigators, Seagroves had forcibly ordered a household member into a vehicle at baseball bat-point, driving off and causing bodily injury while restraining the victim. Cannon allegedly assisted by physically assaulting the same person and attempting serious bodily harm.

On June 13, Burlington police had attempted to apprehend Seagroves, but he fled in a gray Honda CR-V, Vermont plate CRW914, likely driven by Cannon. Their whereabouts were unknown until the Richmond Road residence was identified.
