BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Burlington Police Monday released new surveillance video they say shows a suspect in the shooting death of a 21-year-old in the Old North End two weeks ago.

The July 7 shooting happened on Luck Street near Intervale Avenue around 7:40 p.m. Burlington Police say 21-year-old Hussein Mubarak was shot in the head.
The suspect in the video is seen walking on the sidewalk in an oversized, light-colored jacket. Police say he was in the area just prior to the shooting and was then seen running away into the woods at the north end of Intervale Ave, at the intersection of Manhatten Drive. He was seen again on the railroad tracks by Intervale Road a short time later.
The release of the video comes on the heels of the arrest Friday of Abdiaziz Abdhikadir, 19, who is a person of interest in the case. He appeared in court Monday to answer to several charges, including probation violation, and two outstanding warrants.
Abdhikadir was arrested and released on conditions on July 4th -- just days before the fatal shooting -- for possession of a stolen pistol. One of those outstanding warrants was for failing to appear at his arraignment. Abdhikadir was also convicted in 2017 of simple assault and petit larceny.
