RICHFORD, Vt. (WCAX) - Authorities say a Richford man has been charged with child cruelty after his two-year-old child overdosed.
It happened Tuesday afternoon. The Franklin County Sheriff says deputies responded to a home on Troy Street. After arriving on the scene, they discovered the child was revived with Narcan and taken to the hospital.
The child’s father, Michael Wilson, 30, allegedly told police he left the child unattended in the bathroom and the child put a bag containing an unknown substance in his mouth and began to overdose.
Wilson is due in court Wednesday afternoon to answer to the felony charge.
The Department for Children and Families is conducting its own investigation.
